INTROVERT WITH A PAINTBRUSH
“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”
― Albert Einstein
If you ever meet me, you’ll find a friendly, cheerful person, ready to talk and share. But I’m also someone who needs solitude, to think in a quiet place, to read my favorite books, to just BE. Having said that, however, I’ve had a life-long love affair with art, having dabbled in several different mediums, successfully, over the years. Growing up, I’d pretend I was an art teacher, teaching my “students” about the color wheel, the different types of brushes, and all about art history and different artists, so my calling started early. I think my need to paint is my way of getting out of my shell, which can be scary most of the time, and it’s a way of expressing myself in ways I’m not always able to communicate. I play with paper and paint, mark-making and gestural brush strokes. I’ve had tremendous success in mixed media collage, having sent pieces all over the world, but it’s been only recently that I’ve fallen under the spell of intuitive abstract art, and I have dedicated the last three years to studying various techniques and developing my own intuitive style. I won’t abandon realism completely, and I still love to play with paper and paint, creating small mixed media pieces of interiors, objects, or little vignettes, which are also offered on my website. I believe that art has the power to transform, uplift, and enlighten, and I believe everyone should have the opportunity to purchase affordable, yet quality, art.
My dream is to bring to fruition and make successful my Compassion Through Art initiative, which focuses on giving back to charities and causes dear to my, or my customer’s, heart by always donating a percentage of proceeds of every piece sold to a charity.
Please feel free to contact me with questions or comments about any of my pieces by contacting me through the Contact me link.
I can’t thank you enough for following along on my art journey and being a part of my story.
